Latest Updates from Our Project:

A New Kickstarter for the Prequel to A Prince's Errand.
over 3 years ago – Tue, Sep 15, 2020 at 04:14:28 PM

Hello Everyone,

We've launched a new Kickstarter for our next novel, The Prisoner of Tardalim the first prequel to Tales of the Amulet.

The Prisoner of Tardalim

This novel takes place roughly fifty years before the events of A Prince's Errand and follows the famed conjurer Amendal Aramien.  It is one of four planned prequels to the series.

From the hardcover flaps: "Tor’s rebellion war against the Mindolarn Empire has delivered a  crippling blow, the death of Emperor Mentas.  Seeking aid from their  allies, the Mindolarn Empire turns to the Principality of Soroth and  their society of mages, the Sorothian Magical Order.

"In an effort to aid the empire, the Order’s council calls for an  expedition to travel to the nethermost reaches of the world, the Abodine  Wasteland.  There they must venture to a reliquary of ancient  tevisrals—magical objects—rumored to be hidden within crystal ruins  leftover from a fabled war now long forgotten.

"Among those heading to the perilous wastes is Amendal Aramien, a  conjurer with a quick-wit, keen mind, and a philandering appetite.   Forced into this expedition, Amendal begrudgingly enters the depths of  the reliquary.  What he unearths will forever change his life and set  the stage for the return of a Dark God."

Like the campaign for A Prince's Errand we are raising funds to help offset the production costs of The Prisoner of Tardalim.  Since this novel is smaller and the cover is not a full wrap the campaign goal is set at a lower amount, $3,500.

We'll let Michael Kramer explain more in the video below.

You can read the first 10% of the novel by following any of these links, that's roughly the first 47 pages:

We hope you enjoy this sample.

As a special bonus we're giving every backer a free eBook copy of Heleron's Awakening, the companion story to this novel (a $2.99 value).  All the digital stretch goal rewards will also be available to everyone, and if those goals are met you'll receive a total of 5 eBooks and an audiobook in mp3 format.

At the time of this update the campaign is 52% funded.  We would love to reach our funding goal in the first 48 hours so we can start hitting each of the following stretch goals:

  • $5,000 - Every trade paperback &  hardcover reward will receive an exclusive book-plate, signed by  the  authors.  Digital book-plate will be included in each e-Book.
  • $6,000 - Free digital add-on, short  story featuring one of the main characters, voted by backers (either  Amendal, Ildin, Vaem, or Faelinia).
  • $7,000 - Free digital add-on, a second  short story featuring one of the main characters, voted by backers  (either Amendal, Ildin, Vaem, or Faelinia).
  • $8,000 - Free digital add-on, a third  short story featuring one of the main characters, voted by backers  (either Amendal, Ildin, Vaem, or Faelinia).
  • $9,000 - Free digital add-on, all four short stories featuring the main characters, Amendal, Ildin, Vaem, and Faelinia.
  • $10,000 - Upgraded cover art for Heleron's Awakening, by Kerem Beyit.
  • $15,000 - Every Backer will received  the MP3 version of the novel's audiobook.  Those who pledged toward the  "Hardcover + eBook + Audiobook" tiers will receive an additional  audiobook in mp3 and Audible.
  • $25,000 - Large print run for  hardcovers.  All physical books will be upgraded to hardcover, and those  backing at the hardcover tiers will receive a never-before-printed  collection of short-stories: Untold Tales of Kalda.   Hardcovers will have foil stamping and embossed lettering.  No trade  paperbacks will be produced, except for the "Retro-Edition" copies.  If a  hardcover is not desired and you backed at the paperback tiers you may  request a paperback.

We would love to have your support again but we understand if you're not able to contribute to the campaign.  If you are interested in backing this project there is still time to grab early bird rewards.  Just follow the link below.

Kickstarter for A Prince's Errand Audiobook, Read by Michael Kramer
about 4 years ago – Tue, Feb 18, 2020 at 05:00:52 PM

Hello Everyone,

Over the last few months we've been working with award winning narrator Michael Kramer to produce our epic fantasy novel as an audiobook and we're excited to announce a Kickstarter campaign for the project!

For those of you who don't know, Michael Kramer has narrated several #1 New York Times Bestsellers including, Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time and Brandon Sanderson's The Stormlight Archive.

Michael has begun narrating A Prince's Errand and should be finished within the next few months.  According to our estimates, the audiobook of A Prince's Errand will be roughly 37 hours long.

We're offering some pretty awesome rewards to everyone who backs the project, including: your name read by Michael in the acknowledgements section of the audiobook, the audiobook in MP3 format AND on Audible, bundles of the audiobook with either eBook (Whispersync enabled for seamlessly changing between reading and listening) or Hardcover editions or both, and some limited quantity 24"x36" canvas wraps of the cover art for A Prince's Errand.

And if we meet certain funding goals every backer will receive additional audiobooks of our companion novella and the short-stories of our upcoming Untold Tales of Kalda Collection.  A total of seven additional audiobooks.

The Kickstarter campaign is slated to launch on Februrary 20th, 2020 at noon (MDT).

Visit the Kickstarter page and click the bookmark to be notified of when the campaign launches.  You can visit the preview page here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/lokpublishing/1041308771?ref=otv4wn&token=3a3f0015

For the first 48 hours--or until supplies last--we will have early bird discounts (20% off) on the reward tiers including the audiobook, so be sure to back the project early on to get those savings.

We're planning to fulfill this Kickstarter sometime in April, once we have the edited files back from Michael and Erik, our engineer.  The included eBooks and Hardcovers of A Prince's Errand will ship shortly after the campaign is finished.

Thank you for reading, and we hope you back the project!

Sincerely,
Dan Zangari & Robert Zangari
